Clare Hawes

Heavily influenced by the Art Nouveau movement, which essentially explored the use of the curved line, this style naturally lends itself to the exploration of the female form.

These works celebrate femininity.

I come from a strong artistic background with two degrees in visual art. Since completing my studies in 1994, I have pursued a career in art, working in galleries, ceramic production, public murals & facilitating art classes.

I currently work as an art teacher running workshops for the Brisbane City Council, a ceramic decorator & disability support worker & as a face-painter/ body-artist. I also supply my paintings, carved relief clay panels, screen-prints& jewelery to galleries & art spaces around Brisbane & the Sunshine Coast.
